Which membership site plugins would you recommend? Paid or free? I am interested in both.

Hey Marc,

I use http://musicmarketingmanifesto.....m/wishlist and if you can swing the one time fee of $147 I recommend them. They have long been the leader in membership plugins and they are the best out there, in my opinion.

There are also free ones that you can use, however you don't get support with those, and many of the free ones cost much more once you hit a wall and need to upgrade.

And in my experience that support is invaluable because there are things that can go wrong or are hard to figure out.

If you can wait a few days, I am in the process of recording a lesson on membership sites right now. It will be out by the end of the week.

Having trouble with your marketing? Wish you could have an experienced direct-to-fan marketing expert look over your actual campaigns, music, or content and offer feedback? Thx John. But isn't that $147 annually for wishlist? You said one time fee. Or am I looking at the wrong page?

Hey Marc,

When you order you are signed up for an ongoing subscription that gets you access to support and updates. But you can cancel at anytime and continue to use the plugin. You just won't get support or updates after one year. But the plugin continues to work.

So you can sign up, then cancel, and then only pay again if and when you need support or updates. I tend to renew every 2 - 3 years or so, when I hit a wall with updates or need support for something serious.

Ah I see, they don't make that very clear. Thanks. Looking forward to that upcoming lesson of yours 🙂 Does Wishlist allow to give my customers a choice between monthly and annual subscriptions? I mean when I use the plugin for my customers.

I agree, it's not clear at all. I should have clarified that. Wishlist simply integrates with your payment solution of choice. So for example, if you use Paypal you can select an annual option. Wishlist just protects the site, but their integrations are top notch.
