The web hosting company that I use, MyDomain.com, tried to sell me something called site lock. Is this something I need or is there a WP plugin I should be using? I wanted to see what you all are using and I'm open to suggestions. Thanks.

I assume this is just a malware checking software? Is this for your site or your computer? I have never been pitched to by something like this from my host. I've had a few hacks on sites that I had neglected and Dreamhost always caught it and told me. I mostly just try and be smart with my username and passwords, and back everything up with a database backup plugin.

It's for my site. It's supposed to track and eliminate malware and bots that may try to compromise your WP site. I backup my site too so I think I'm ok.  Thanks for the feedback.

Gotcha. It could very well be worth it. But i don't personally use it or anything like it. My best advice is to just make sure you don't use admin as a username as the majority of attacks are brute force attacks that target admin and name of site as username.
