Hi John,
Just wondering, do you guys build membership sites as one of your extra services?
I want to use Wishlist member (same as you guys)
Has anyone got a company that they recommend?
Cheers Julie
Hi Julie,
It's not something me or my team does, but it's not hard at all. Just install wordpress, get Wishlist, and go through the tutorials. It;s kind of important you personally understand how the plugin works. Issues will come up all the time and it really helps if you are the one who set up the plugin and understand the different settings. If you do take a stab at it and have any questions, feel free to post them here. Happy to help.

Thanks John, I just don't have the time so want to hire someone!!
I hear you. You might try reaching out to Scott James at scott@ihelpmusicians.com. Tell him I sent you. He can probably do it for you, but keep in mind how important it is that you know how to work the many nuances of the plugin. Issues will arise and you need to be able to fix them on the spot. Nothing worse than running a promotion, making hundreds of sales, and then suddenly getting dozens of emails from upset customers who can't get access to what they ordered. Ask me how I know

Hi John,
thanks for the heads up. I have been playing with it and doing the tutorials earlier in the year, so should be able to pick up the admin. I have found a good developer on elance who has wishlist and optimize press skills which I'm using to build more complex landing pages. Work is now in progress.
I'll be using camtasia to video powerpoint slides - I gather that is how you created MMM and the facebook course, what is the best video format and where do you host the vids?
After I have done this project we are going to do a launch of my partners album, had to put this on hold otherwise both boats would never have floated!! Planning to do a launch using JVs, so will talk to you about that later.
Cheers Julie
Sounds good. And yes, I use Camtasia to make my videos and I host them all on Amazon S3. S3 is a pain in the butt to set up but it's far cheaper than hosting media on your own server. There are some handy Youtube videos on the set up process though.

Hi there,
I know this is an old thread but I was wondering if Wishlist is still the best membership plugin to use? Are there better/cheaper alternatives? Does any one have any experience with any others?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. 🙂
Tell me who my band sounds like! :)
Hey Rauf, to my mind Wishlist is still considered the leader in the space. But there are definitely others, and cheaper ones as well. You should even be able to find a free one. I just haven't personally used one and can't vouch for any of them beyond wishlist. The only word of caution I would have is that these things can be quite complex to set up. The support you get makes the fee worthwhile in my experience, but there is no harm in trying a free/cheap one first and seeing how it works for you.
