Hi John,
Great call today.
Okay, I have blogged in the past to solid success and I love it. However currently we "share" our feelings
on facebook/tumblr and then on the older wordpress set up for just blogging. How/where do you suggest
putting posts so they are building a catalog of value for new people signing up but also for people who are not signing up?
For instance should we write the blog in wordpress and then just put the links in facebook, tumblr and the new mmm3 squeeze page site or should they just be on the new site squeeze page site. I really connected with what you said today about not just showing pictures of back in the studio but sharing that feeling of community you are creating.
Let me know what you think.
Thanks!
Stacy
Thanks Stacy, glad you got a lot out of the call. What I do is post those key blog posts on my blog but hide them from the main feed. You can do that by either using the "post filters" plugin, or creating the post as a "page". I want everyone who is finding these posts to come to them for the first time via my autoresponder series. But I also create new, real time, blog posts as well.
So in other words, if my autoresponder series was two weeks long, I would create a list segment that only included people that signed up more than two weeks ago, and I would email those people whenever I had something new to say. So the new subscribers all go through the autoresponder series and get exposed to all of the sales funnel content. The people who have already gone through that would get the emails about new content so they continue to stay engaged.
I would not link to the evergreen stuff in my social feeds, personally. But I definitely would with all the real time stuff.

Got it! Thanks so much.
To recap. The real time blogging would be a seperate effort from the email series blogs and folks who sign up for the email list.
Stacy
That's right. There are two phases to this (normally). There is the sales funnel: That is your automated series designed to build the relationship and close the sale. Then there are the real time broadcasts: These are the emails that you send out regularly, two everyone, all at the same time. You do this to keep people engaged and generate more money from future promotions, album releases, live shows, etc.

Thanks,
last question. Are you for/against a general blog for the outside world to read meaning anyone even if they are not on the email list?
If you are for it...then would it be all different posts from email funnel?
If you are against it would it then be all the posts are hidden from outside viewers and have something else posted for the general public?
Thanks,
Stacy
Hi Stacy,
No, not against it at all. In fact it can be a great traffic generation strategy in it's own right. It's just important to remember the differences between the sales funnel and public content. A public blog post will serve you as a relationship building tool, or as a potential traffic magnet. The blog posts that are included in the sales funnel are part of the sales process and will contribute to your conversion rate. So they are part of what you measure when you measure your results. It's important that you understand the difference of purpose between the blog posts that you have in your funnel vs a public blog.
