I have an eclectic mix of music, ranging from electronica ambient to new wave and almost punk.
When I booked a gig recently a place I gigged before for the third time, the booker told me he
didn't know what kind of music to tell someone who asked my music was. When I perform I might
do one electronica ambient song (with a psychedelic flare) like this one:
and a new wave punk song like this one:
and electro pop song like this one:
Any ideas on what I might hone in as my genre when a booker asks?
Maybe Electrorock? Or maybe just stick with Electropop. I think the electronic instrumentation is the defining quality, at leats in terms of genre.

Thanks for your feedback on this. I very much appreciate it. Many say I have an eclectic mix.
Evenso I need a label, and electropop can cover a lot of my kind of vibe. All the best to you.
Yeah, I think music genres are like wine. If you're really paying attention then you can find so many distinctive qualities between different wines. But to the average person, it's just red wine. Your fans will no doubt see levels to your music that are there. But when it comes to attracting new fans, we just need to know how these people identify their music tastes in a fairly broad sense. So it's usually simpler than we make it

I am like the wine comparison. Very enlightening perspective. Thanks!:-)
