I am very happy with my new funnel system that you helped me put together. it has already beaten my online sales for the last 5 years and I am not even advertising it yet (outside of getting subscribers at my performances)

I am now ready to start thinking about an upsale in preparation for my Facebook ad campaigns. this will of course help my ROI on my paid advertising.

My favorite ideas for an upsale are:

  • house concerts ($100-$500)

                 --or--

  • a bundle of albums that my musician friends and associates have produced ($30 - $50)

I would prefer doing house concerts because I enjoy them and I can make more but I have had a miserable time selling them so far. of course, I have not started trying to sell them with the MMM system yet...

a bundle offer might be easier to sell but have a lower margin...

If you need to know more about what I do, my landing page is http://www.aaronstokesmusic.com

what are your thoughts? anyone can jump in on this one. Thanks!

Hey Aaron,

That's fantastic to hear.

I think house concerts are fantastic, but I think they make better stand alone promotions than upsells. It's not too hard to close a sale on a $15 album based on even marginal interest. But getting a new customer, who hasn't even heard your album yet, to spend hundreds of dollars to have you come to their home is another story.

I think what makes the most sense is a collection of your own material. If that is not an option I like the box set of related music more than the house concert idea. HOWEVER, you could totally create a 72 hour house concert promotion and schedule it to go out a month or two later, with some non promotional content in between. or you could just manually send out the promotion a couple of times a year. I think you'll make more sales that way any way as this is something people may need to think about for a moment before buying.

As an aside, do you mind if I use part of what you said on my testimonials page? I'd love to use "I am very happy with my new funnel system that you helped me put together. it has already beaten my online sales for the last 5 years and I am not even advertising it yet". I'll of course link yo your page as well. Might get you the odd extra click here and there. But absolutely no problem if you'd rather not for any reason.

Great job.

I would be honored to have my two cents in your testimonial list. The whole system is magical and I was very skeptical before I bought. I am a reforming cynic and my old programming was telling me that it would never work. Laugh I still have a lot to learn but I appreciate your help. I could not have done all this without your help.

I have 3 CDs that I have released and 1 solo CD that is almost finished.

I am working on 2 other CDs at the current time as well:

one of them pushes in a slightly different direction than my previous music and the other is a Christmas compilation.

This currently gives me my first 2 CDs that I could conceivably bundle together but it sounds like I should shoot for no less than a $30 upsale and I don't see how I could do that with only a 2 CD bundle. I suppose I could consider adding something else to the 2 disc bundle...

I LOVE your suggestion about the 72hr house concert promotion! I think that is exactly what I will do for that product/service. As always, your response is AWESOME Laugh

Hey Aaron. Thanks for letting me use the quote. I've added it here: http://www.musicmarketingmanif.....timonials/

Yeah, it would be tough to ask $30 for two CDs, especially given that the upsell should be less than retail. What you could do is start by just offering both CDs for just $10 for digital or $15-20 for physical. That wouldn't get you maximum profits but it would give you some data to work with. If you are profitable then great, you're away. If you're not, then you can at least do some math and figure out what it's going to take. You can always add more content to the upsell later. A live CD, an acoustic CD, an interview album, something that is easy and cheap to create, but still justifies the price.

Really happy to hear your enthusiasm for everything.
