Hi John,
In case I'm ready to launch my new funnel by Tues, I had the following concern...
Valentine's Day is right around the corner and most of my fans are male. Meaning they're gonna be using their cash to buy gifts probably if they have a girlfriend. Is this something I should think about or ignore?
Cheers,
Bri
Hi Brian.
I'm not John and I'm not male, but from a female perspective, I like it when my other half buys me some music to download, especially if it's something I haven't heard before that he thinks I might enjoy.
So, if your music would work in this context, you could go for the 'get your girlfriend something a bit different this Valentines Day' and encourage a download as a gift.
Now, far be it from me to stereotype, but how many men don't get around to buying a Valentine's Gift till the last minute? Then end up with overpriced and rather predictable flowers and chocolates that don't last and or/mess up the post-Xmas pre-Spring diet plans of their loved one? Maybe you could offer them the chance to get something that seems thoughtful, different, long-lasting and (here's the genius) they can buy in an instant without having to fight their way through the crowds in the 'Seasonal Aisle' of their store of choice. And they can buy it at the last minute in that 'oh xxxx I forgot' moment.
Now I'm really sorry that I haven't heard your music because this suggestion might be crazy if your style would be a totally inappropriate gift to a loved one...must go Google you and find out
Hope this helps
Deb
Hey Brian,
I don't personally know if Valentines day screams "music promotion opportunity" to me, that said, that's the beauty of having a list. It really won't hurt at all. Put some kind of a sales page together making a special limited time valentines day offer and fire off a couple of emails. See what happens. If you can see a pitch that makes sense, than I'm sure you have some fans that will take you up on it. Good luck!

More of a chit chatty question I know, for some reason was on my mind a couple days ago. I appreciate the feedback Deb, I bet it could work if I worked it. And John I like how you said that "if I see a pitch that makes sense, some fans will take me up." I guess it really is in our control if we follow our own rules.
For sure Brian.

I just got an email from an on-line store with the header 'Pretend like you had this planned for ages'
Of course, I opened it and it included links to experience-type gifts where you can download a voucher.
So if you have a moment you could borrow their idea and mail your list, or tweet, or pop it onto a facebook ad.
Its the only way to find out if it would work or not.
Now..where did I put my credit card?
Good luck!
Deb
