Hello
I am new to the forum and I was wondering if there is any quick start info. My situation is this- I am working with a singer and we are called Drøm here is a link http://drom-music.com
There is clearly loads of info here on the insider circle but what are the very basics if you are starting out?
I think we have great tracks and a great website-please comment if you disagree but what I want to know is what is the best way to promote the project? At the moment we have something like sixty Facebook fans mainly friends of ours and no database of emails. We have done no marketing or promotion so want to try and get this right from the off.
1.The web page has a number of our tracks on it, is that a good or bad idea?
2. Squeeze page-Should you have access to the website or should people have to go through a squeeze page before gaining access?
3. Facebook ads-I am presuming that the ads are to drive traffic to the squeeze page or website is that correct? My understanding is that email address are crucial and I remembering hear from JO that Facebook could be pulled or whatever then you would loose all contact detail.
If you have any other hints or tips they will be greatly received.
I think once I can understand possibly the simple answers to these questions I can start using this great resource.
Nice one
Jonny
Hey Jonny,
Welcome to the IC.
I see that you also have MMM. My best advice regarding where to start, would be to apply what is laid out in MMM in terms of getting your funnel up.
From there I would go through the different IC lessons and see what resonates with you. The material here in the IC is really meant to compliment the fundamental strategy laid out in MMM. So from there I would go through the lessons and see what resonates with you based on where you are in the process. That make sense?
To answer your questions...
1. There is nothing wrong with sharing music with your fans on your website, but I wouldn't share much on your squeeze page. You want to limit the information when driving cold traffic to a lead generation form. But on your fan hub, or the content rich portion of your site, sharing music is great.
2. Cold traffic should have to go through a squeeze page. but you might also have a content rich site that is easy for existing fans to find. I use two domains for this. One for cold traffic, and one as an "official site. Alternatively you could have a content rich site, but send traffic to a walled off squeeze page on an extension of the site. IE, yoursite.com/free-track
3. There are a lot of ways you can use FB ads, but yes, That is the short of it. You drive traffic to your squeeze page so you can build your list, and let your autoresponder take over to grow the relationship with your fans and ultimately drive sales.
I'd go back to MMM for the fundamentals and then come here to the IC for more advanced training, and one-on-one advice here in the forum.
Let me know if I can help with anything else.
