Hey y'all,

My ad is doing well so I want to 1st start with improving my squeeze page, but the 1st thing I attached is my FB ad so you guys can judge how closely I'm matching that content with my squeeze page content.

Next I Attached my squeeze pg. and then I attached an alternate picture I'm gonna use for another squeeze page so I can A/B.

Last I attached a screen shot of the bottom of the squeeze page which will obviously be the same for each A and B. That's it for now but if there's anything else you guys think I should be testing before the picture please let me know, or any feedback at all. Cheers!

BTW the form on the squeeze page is missing but the copy is identical to John's example.

Thanks John,

Just sharing and fishing for anything you saw that may have been janky. Next question, RE the next step of the funnel: Blogs...

Question: Keeping in mind that I think the purpose of the blogs are to build a bond with new subscribers, establish myself as a professional and as the tribe leader, build my tribe's brand up and maybe make a couple initial sales... should I?...

A) do a traditional text blog or B) do a video powerpoint blog where they hear my voice while reading my text?

here's the traditional blog: http://www.brianrogersmusic.co.....k-dey-ass/ ‎‎

here's the video blog: http://www.brianrogersmusic.co.....test-video

Or... maybe even a blog page containing both the video and text down below the video?... Kinda like the MMM sales page.

BTW it's my 1st try at doing the video thing so it's pretty rough and any suggestions are welcome. Thanks!

Hey Brian,

I would not do a powerpoint. That doesn't make sense for music, to my mind. A blog probably works best for this. One thing you could try is adding an audio version at the top and explaining that you added an audio version for everyone who is like you and hates to sit there reading. I have no experience doing that but have seen others do it, and I personally always listen rather than read.

Music is art and I'm selling an experience, a vibe, a tribe and a feeling really. Now that I see it from outside eyes it seems heavy-handed to do a powerpoint when I'm simply trying to keep it light and entertaining in the blogs, while subtly establishing myself.

I do really like the idea of doing an audio player at the top of the blog though. I bet a little player up top as opposed to a downloadable link would look cleaner. What's the best way to go about that in wordpress?

I don't think it's heavy handed exactly, it just looks businessy, as apposed to organic. A player definitely. Not a download. However if you do this regularly you could add the feed to iTunes and suddenly you have a podcast and possibly a little extra traffic. There are a million wordpress player plugins. And a bunch of podcast plugins that have players. Just search the plugin directory. Drop a link when you settle on something. Cheers.

Nice, the idea of building up to a podcast jives with me, I like that possibility.

Here's the link to the updated blog w/the audio player up top:

Yeah, I think that's pretty cool. There are players out there that might look better for this purpose. The one I use for the sales page is small, which is why I use it. But for something this prominent I think a more visual player might be better. But it's not a big deal at all.

The only other thing I might suggest is to try reading it a tad slower and with a little more focus. It sounds a little like it's just rolling off your tongue, as if you've read it a thousand times and are just going through the motions, as apposed to reading me a story. That make sense? But again, I still think it's good and I'm kind of splitting hairs. I'd be curious what the reaction is once you send people to it.

Def. noted about the player. I'll see what else is out there, easy to install. And yes; Totally get it RE: the reading of the blog, it'll be easy to record a second take. But yes I'lll be running some traffic to it ASAP. Just gotta tie up loose ends with my Box set and a few other tech. details.

Here's my second blog: I think I read it a bit more intentionally, at least at times. To me it feels more like a story and less like a convo, like the 1st blog. Here's the second one:

Thanks John! I went ahead and recorded a second take and ended up kinda splicing the two together to create what I think is a pretty cool effect. Haven't uploaded it to my site but the mp3 is attached in case you wanted to take a listen.< < < BTW this is a pretty cool looking player

Thank you! I think it's ready to share. Except, BTW is that mp3 player you use for the forum a custom built player or a wordpress plugin? If so, what is it called if you don't mind me asking?

Honestly, I've never used it and have never even seen it until you used it. I assume it's part of SimplePress, the forum plugin I use. There are a ton of wordpress plugins. Just do a bit of googling for wordpress player plugins.

There is also Viral Music Player, which looks pretty sharp ;-)

Yeah I'll def be checking out the Viral Music Player soon as I'm nearing launch time.

As for retargeting, I just had a thought that retargeting the regular sales page WHILE they're in the LTO might not be a bad idea. They might see my ad for one album and think to themselves, "oh wait I have a chance to buy two of his albums right now". Do you think this would be on point annoying to people, or just making the retargeting tactic useless?

Not at all, that's what I was saying in your other thread that I actually do. But I do it more out of laziness than thinking it's the "best" way possible.

Haha totally, sometimes laziness isn't the worst thing for a dude like me who tends to overthink. haha Speaking of...

Is it possible to give away too much stuff up front? For example I'm now considering giving away 3 free tracks, PLUS a free track if they share my page through the VMTK I just picked up, plus another free track in my second blog.

Maybe some will be like: "OK why would I need to buy I now have 5 of his songs." But maybe some will be beyond stoked and more apt to buy, and I should be more keen on serving those folks well anyway. What's your experience which this?

It would seem possible, but I haven't personally tested that. All you can do is put yourself in the shoes of your fans and imagine how it feels, and then of course, look at the numbers. I just kind of do what feels cool on that front. If they are lower than they should be, change things up.

Cool that makes sense, thanks John.

Next, here is this 1st take of my upsell pitch.

I know its too long, and I've already made several edit notes. but does the general tone, pacing, ect. need changing?

PS it starts off like your example but quickly personalizes, and For now it's just the vocals but I'll probably add it to the top of a page with the written version and a couple images.

This actually seems pretty cool to me. I've never tried the vocal-only thing on a sales page. But something tells me this will help. Seems really personal. And if you don't use a player on your initial sales page, this will really jump out at your customers. It is perhaps a bit long, but not necessarily.  In the world of copywriting circles they always say that you need to take whatever time it takes to tell the story and make the pitch. You'll find that those that aren't interested will tell you it's too long, but for those that are you are just peeling away layers of resistance. So take whatever time you need to do that.

But as always, testing will tell you everything.
