I'm looking to start up a regular weekly/bi-weekly hangout about focusing on what you need to make a full time income as a musician - so it dovetails with everything that John teaches here.
I think this would be a great opportunity to discuss your plans, help you out with tech problems, bounce ideas off each other - share tips and all kinds of cool stuff.
John has expressed interest on showing up (if his schedule permits) and I've had unofficial comments from Scott James also being interested.
So, if this sounds interesting - read on.
Right now I'm looking to host this on Monday evenings between 8pm-9pm EST at least once every two weeks - but if there's sufficient demand this could grow to a weekly occurrence.
What you need to participate
- a Google account (required for Hangouts - sorry).
- your time.
- your questions.
Reply here and I will add you to a Google Circle dedicated to these marketing/biz hangouts. I'll do my best to also post a link here on the forum as well.
This is a great way to work through any obstacles you encounter while you're working through MMM or Insider Circle trainings.
Google Hangouts are like a live webinar - but if you're squeamish about being on camera, you can keep your camera turned off and just have your voice audible with your profile picture in place of the camera view.
Don't be shy - you have a chance to get direct answers, tips, resources, secrets and who knows what else by taking part in this.

Okay - tonight is the night. I understand that the weather is frightful outside so it may cause tech issues for some attendees. So far so good on my end.
If you're interested in attending and haven't let me know yet - circle me and send me a shout and I'll invite you in before we get started. It will be a small group most likely...so we can all fit on the video chat.

Hey John - I thought it went pretty well. Mike Huberty and I chatted for about an hour or so on the Hangout. I was surprised to discover Mike was a bassist as well. Mike's looking for traffic (aren't we all) but we spent a fair bit of time about determining the audience for his music...
I'll be available tomorrow from 8:30 - 9:30pm EST for anyone else interested in attending. I'll send out another invite vial Google+.
Well I've been swept up in whirlwinds and finally see you are doing the hangout. I mistakenly didn't send my

Just wanted to make a small update. Last Friday night I scheduled a hangout (usually I host them on Mondays) and invited the people from this thread who have expressed interest previously: John Oszajca Scott James Jazzelle Lasiuk and Mike Huberty.
Jazzelle braved her very first Hangout and Scott popped in a few minutes later and we proceed to offer our collective advice/wisdom for Jazzelle's current challenges and goals.
It was a lot of fun, and I'm glad that Scott was able to pop in at the last minute. Looking forward to doing more of these and perhaps set a new record (4) for attendees on a single hangout!

I've been at rehearsal or performing for the last couple hangouts, but I'll definitely try to make the next one! Did you put the last couple on YouTube afterwards? I know you can save directly there.

Hi Mike,
Sorry you missed the last one few hangouts I put together - rest assured there will be more!
I haven't recorded any of them, last time I just chatted inside the "green room" and I didn't bother to press the "broadcast" button. Some people aren't exactly comfortable with video yet...but next time I'll do a private recorded Hangout so that people can check it out and it's still somewhat private.
I'll be going back to Mondays as last Friday was more or less a "fluke". I'll leave an update if I can swing one for this coming Monday or not.
