Hi everyone,
Steve Rodgers here from MMM Support. I have an important update for everyone.
As some of you may have noticed, John has not been very active this week and I wanted to let you all know what's been going on.
As you guys know, John and his family spend most of their time in their home in the New Zealand countryside. They have been there an extended amount of time, both because of their wedding earlier this year, but also because he and his wife are expecting a new addition to the family.
Well, as of a few days ago, the new addition decided that she might make her debut a tad earlier than expected.
As exciting as this may sound, it's also the cause of great concern for John and his wife. They had to travel several hours to the nearest hospital in preparations for the best possible outcome and for the health of Mom and baby.
So right about now and for the past few days, John has been holed up in a hotel near the hospital with their son, far away from their home and he is on extremely limited internet access, as you can imagine.
He told me that he might be able to pop in and out once per day or so, but he asked me to reach out to everyone in case you guys have anything that is pressing, or that you need immediate help with.
I'll be doing my best to keep up in here as well as in the support box, however I think it would be really great if you guys could send a bit of love and support to John and his family, while they are waiting for the little one to arrive.
As always, keep posting in the forums, but don't hesitate to drop a line to support@www.mmmanifesto.com if you need immediate help.
Thanks everyone!

Thanks, Steve, for the update.
Wow, John! There are love and prayers from the Langer family! I'm sorry the circumstances are difficult. Having been a husband and father under stress, I can relate. I'm pulling for the best possible outcome. I hope you'll post baby pics.
Best to John, his wife and child. I'll certainly remember them in my prayers.

Thanks guys. All is good so far. Basically what happened is that my wife's (Keshama's) water ruptured 6 weeks early. Not the same as breaking. The longer baby stays in there, unstressed, the better. We've been at the hospital for a week so far and today makes 5 weeks early. Much better than 6. Doctors don't seem worried but it's stressful as you can imagine. It's just a waiting game right now with close monitoring. Just got a better hotel so I may have more time online going forward. That is until she actually goes into labor, which could be any time.
Anyway, thanks for everyone's patients. I hope to be caught up on all the forum posts in the next day or two.
Thanks again guys for all the well wishes.

I'm rooting for you and your family John. My first child was born on October 9th instead of October 31st (we recently just celebrated his 11th birthday) so about 3 weeks early and by caesarian section as my wife's water completely broke. It was stressful but all worked out well.
You're in a little bit of an earlier situation, so hang in there and my prayers are with you and your wife - I'm looking forward to the baby pics as well!
Thanks Mike,
I'm here in NZ at the moment and they do thinsg a little different. It's socialized medicine so they go the natural route whenever they can whereas in the states I think they induce at 34 weeks when there is a problem, they wait till 37 weeks here and try to avoid the C section. I have no idea which is better. I like the idea of letting nature take care of things but hate that I can't see what's going on.
But thanks again, I have a feeling we're getting close.

Hey John,
We're pretty "socialized" here in Canada as well. We did everything we could to avoid getting the caesarian section - but the baby was in distress and had the umbilical cord wrapped around his neck like three times, so it was the only option (you better believe that my wife asked for a second opinion even after hearing that!).
I agree that going the natural route is best whenever possible, but your wife also has the facilities around her should they be required so that sounds like the best of both worlds!
Thanks for the update Steve. And John - I hope everything goes well for you and your family. Sending you good vibes from California....
Hi John: My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
Thanks gang. We're still in the hospital but all is looking good. They are still just monitoring. If baby's vitals stay normal and strong then they just leave her in there to develop. We have been here for over 2 weeks now so we bought a lot of time. If she doesn't go into labor by next weekend (37 weeks) they will induce because all the major development has taken place. We were really worried about what they said was likely to be 3 - 5 weeks of intensive care if she was born at 34 weeks. We are now in the "she may not need any at all" phase. So that's awesome. One more week and it's unlikely she will need any. Thanks everyone for all the well wishes.
It's funny, I haven't even posted the fact that my wife is pregnant on Facebook, let alone all this scary stuff we've been dealing with. This is the only place I've even discussed it. I love this forum 🙂
Thanks again.

I love this forum
Me too! And thanks for the update. You have my utmost empathy. I've been through pre-term labor with all three of my kids, and two of them were emergency C sections. Vicky now tells me, "But, I loved being pregnant!" I'm like, "Are you out of your flipping mind? Were you even there? That is NOT the way it was!"
Hey Charley - My wife's memory is similar. I think mother nature purposely messes with the mother's memory in order for the species to continue to propagate!
Hey everyone, thanks for all your patience over the last few weeks. Our daughter was born on Halloween. Happy and healthy. Back home now and slowly getting back into the swing. Should be at full force by next week.
Here's a quick pic from a proud (and extremely relieved) dad. Our daughter Winter taking a nap; just a day old.

She's beautiful John, and I don't think I've ever heard of the name "winter" before - I like it!
