Hi John-

Ok...after a few false starts the funnel is starting to come together. I have about 22 new subscribers - 13 yesterday alone from a campaign targeting fans of The Killers in US, Canada, and the UK. Cost is at about $3.98/SUB which I know is not optimal but not terrible either. I've got some clear-cut data on the Creative Assets now and am going to create a new campaign with the winning elements with the same targeting to see how low I can get that number. Still running with 2 different images.

Questions:

1) Should I be running another campaign with different targeting using the same Creative Dynamic combo? How many different campaigns/ ad sets do you typically run at once?

2) For some reason- even though I've selected it on my custom columns- relevancy does not show up. Have you run into this before?

3) At what point should I start w Funnel support ads?

4) If the magic number is $1 per sub at what point do you abandon a campaign? As in, what's a tolerable range (cost per sub) for you?

5) What is a good percentage of subs/ link clicks? Sales/ subs? trying to get a sense of what numbers to be aiming for...

Thanks!

Matt

That's really great to hear Matt. That is still high, as you mention, but it's progress. Hopefully your new campaign brings those prices down. At least you're starting to see how this stuff works.

Questions:

1) Should I be running another campaign with different targeting using the same Creative Dynamic combo? How many different campaigns/ ad sets do you typically run at once?

There isn't really one set way here. If your offer is not overly specific, I would run the same ads to a different audience. But sometimes we reference specific things in our ads that don't work with other audiences. For now I would probably stick with finding one ad that works and trying it on different audiences.

There is no limit to how many campaigns or ad sets you can run at once. But I think keeping things simple (and cheap) is best right now. Maybe one campaign and two or three ad sets? Turning off anything that doesn't perform well, fairly quickly.

2) For some reason- even though I've selected it on my custom columns- relevancy does not show up. Have you run into this before?

When an ad is new, yes. But you will need to be in the ad level to see it, so make sure you are on the ad tab rather than ad set or campaign.

3) At what point should I start w Funnel support ads?

I would wait until your main ad is working and your funnel is converting.

4) If the magic number is $1 per sub at what point do you abandon a campaign? As in, what's a tolerable range (cost per sub) for you?

That really depends on the big picture. You need to calculate your subscriber value, or even make a projection of subscriber value based on future promotions, and that number tells you how much you can afford to spend per sub. $1 is just a rough target. But some people can afford to spend much more.

To calculate your subscriber value you just take your earnings and divide it by the number of subscribers. You can do the same with projected earnings. Spend more than that and you are losing money.

5) What is a good percentage of subs/ link clicks? Sales/ subs? trying to get a sense of what numbers to be aiming for...

You might check out this video in terms of what is normal: https://www.mmmanifesto.com/in.....is-normal/

But in short, I like to see at least...

25% squeeze page conversion.

3% Ad link clicks.

4 - 6% sales conversions from list is average. 10% is excellent.

Thanks!
