Just to be clear, I did not say that you are required to download malware in order to use Filezilla, rather they have now introduced an install wizard that tries to get you to install other programs, which many have reported to have malware. But you must opt in to that. So long as you reject the offers to have any third party programs installed you should be fine. I recently installed FZ on a new computer with no issues. That said, the previous statement is accurate to the best of my knowledge. Because FZ is a third arty application which can change at any time, I cannot say with complete certainty that FZ will not install something malicious on your computer. That's really just a disclaimer more than anything. There are many different FTP clients out there. A google search for free FTP client will show you some options. I personally use FZ. If you find something else you are happier with then let us know. Cheers.
