Hi John! Im noticing that at live shows fans are happy to sign up for the mailing list but never confirm to be part of it via the email they get once they sign up, most likely because they forget to or don't check their spam. Fans that find me online seem to be fine with confirming in the email. Do you have any suggestions?
Hi Richard,
Steve here. While you generally want to have confirmation turned on for each of your lists, you may have to make your live show subscriber list not be a confirmed opt-in.
There is definitely the risk of people never confirming their subscription from a live setting, with confirmation turned on. However confirmation obviously keeps you out of spam trouble.
Hey Richard,
yeah, I think the delay between asking people to sign up and them needing to confirm just leads to a lot of people going cold. As Steve mentioned, I would create a separate list for leads generated at live shows and turn the confirmation requirement off. To be honest, I am turning the opt in requirement off more and more on a lot of my lists these days.
Let us know how that works for you.
