Hello All,
I just launched my first ad last night and have my first 4 subscribers!
However, none of them seem to have been clocked by Facebook - it shows 0 conversions so I assume Dynamic Creative's algorithms aren't getting to work. The pixel seems to be installed ok on the correct page, the ad shows it's linking to it and Facebook says there are no issues with the pixel when I test it so I don't really know what to do next.
Anyone got any advice? I've been searching the web for potential solutions but with no joy so far.
All thoughts welcome.
Cheers,
Keith
Hey Keith, looks like you posted something similar in another thread. I responded to you there before seeing this. But lets keep the conversation going here so it has it's own topic.
Congrats on getting your first subscribers!
You’ll never have 100% accurate tracking, which is why you always need to also monitor your Aweber stats, as you’ll usually have more subscribers than FB says you do. People can have cookies blocked and all manner of other settings that would prevent something from being tracked. But it’s usually going to be close enough for rock n’ roll. It’s concerning that 100% of your conversions have not been tracked. But it’s also possible it’s a fluke as 4 subscribers is really not enough to go on.
Do you have confirmed opt in on or off? If you have it on, it’s possible that those subscribers have not confirmed and as such, they haven’t made it to your confirmation page. Try using aweber’s search function, and open up each subscriber to see what their status is. Are they active or does it say confirmation pending?
If they have confirmed then I'm left to think that something is not installed right. It's possible you have the wrong pixel in place, or you've got a setting wrong in your custom conversion settings. It's just too hard for me to diagnose without being in your account.

Hello John,
Thanks for the replys and sorry for the duplication - I wasn't sure if the other post was getting lost in being an older thread or something.
In answer to your question, opt-in is on. Aweber tells me 4 have confirmed and there's another 3 with status pending.
When looking at the pixel overview page in Facebook it's showing that it is installed on my conversion page as well as giving stats for visits to the page so I'm trying to double check I've definately hooked it up to my ads right but not finding it straight forward to do.
How do I check my custom conversion settings? I'm still finding my way around the dashboard and the help function gives explanations which seem full of jargon to a newbie like me. (Is the Attribution window in Settings a relevant factor? If so I've got the default one of 28-day click & 1-day view).
All advice & suggestions gratefully received!
OK - to whom it may concern, the situation is resolved!
Aweber adds a load of code to the URL when clicking on the confirm button in the email. Because my 'conversion event' was set to clock "where URL traffic equals" my link it wasn't triggering. Changing it to "URL contains" seems to have done the trick.

Hey John,
What do you think about the new Facebook 1st party pixel? It's designed to bypass 3rd party blocking software. I'm just about to launch my funnel and am going through the terms and conditions and privacy policy stuff. Trying to decide if I should tell people that I use cookies or not. Traditionally, the answer would be no with the usual FB pixel.

I thought the Facebook pixel was a cookie? I'd tell them - people have a right to know if they're being tracked, especially if they feel they're not by using using ad blockers.

Hey Keith,
My apologies for not responding sooner. Between the weekend and just generally being swamped I've been a bit behind Just seeing your posts now.
That's really interesting about the Aweber link code. It makes sense, however I've never seen that issue. I do use contain these days, but I never had the issue when I didn't. Nor have I heard any reports of it and I've had thousands of people follow these tutorials. But it is interesting. If it's fixed now, that's all that matters.
Keep us posted on how you get on.

It's actually not all that new and has been around since last year. But I think it's better for us as marketers, and if you believe that an optimized advertising experience is better for consumers (which I do) then I think it's also better for consumers.
The current default settings use both 1st and 3rd party cookies. You can turn them off and only use third, but I wouldn't personally do that.
You should definitely tell people that you use cookies in your privacy policy. While a pixel and a cookie are technically different, if you use the FB pixel you are also using cookies, no matter which way you go. I tend to go overkill with my privacy policies and mention everything I possibly can think of. Almost no one but the hyper paranoid care. Especially if you are not using a cookie warning pop up.
