Hey John:

I can't find any definitive answer on this out on the web, so I thought I'd ask you.

I know you mentioned in an earlier thread that Facebook couldn't track mobile conversions - is this still true? I've seen a few people say that you now can track mobile conversions, so I'm wondering if that's changed...

Thanks!

Hey Mike,

I honestly don't know. I was told by a Facebook rep that there were issues with tracking mobile conversions but that was a while ago and I also see many posts out there suggesting that you can track mobile conversions. Though I know there are issues with cookies and mobile devices. there are workarounds, but I don't know many companies that use them. Not sure where Facebook is with that.

What I can tell you for certain is that FB conversion stats are way off for the most part, at least for me. I have ads running every single day and I always see a good deal of conversions unacounted for.

One other thing that makes it difficult to track is that usually there is organic activity associated with an ad. I might get an organic traffic ration on an ad that is as high as 10% or more. So those people shouldn't theoretically be tracked. But they are still coming as a result of a paid post. So it gets confusing.

Long story short, I have never been able to make the numbers line up so I sort of just use conversion stats as a guide. All I do is look at my overall subs for the day and divide my ad spend by that number. So long as my growth is where I need it to be based on my spend, I continue forward.
