Hey John, I have been running ads and in my last add got some good social proof ie. comments a lot of likes on my add etc. I was wondering is there any way of using that same add with all the likes etc but on a completely different add to try and benefit from the interactions I got.... so that people arent seeing an add with no likes?

Hey Jordan,

You used to be able to do that by just creating a duplicate ad but not changing any of the ad settings. Unfortunately that stopped being the case a while back. i haven't tried it in a while, and they change things a lot. but to my knowledge you can't do that.

The way to get around this is to do this...

Instead of creating an ad in your ad manager, just create a post and publish it to your page. Then, when you are setting up your ad, select "use existing post" instead of creating an ad from scratch. That way the ad will live on your feed and you can use it over and over again in the future if you have a successful campaign. I have been doing this a lot lately with success.

It won't help you with this one, but it will for the future. The only downside is that your followers are going to see each one of these you post, so I typically only do it when I have a proven ad that I know works.

Hey Jordan. I guess I don't follow. A post and an ad look pretty much identical except for the tiny little "sponsored" tag you see on ads. Would you mind elaborating?

Sorry john,

Yeah if I am doing just a standard post on my Facebook page, how do i get the "learn more" button, the head line text and then to add copy all set out like a normal add?

I have attached a post of yours which is set out exactly like a normal add would look, and also another post of your which is set out different. But i can see how to make a normal post that would be displayed in my feed look like a proper add like you have here in the screen shot i attached.

Sorry im not really sure how to convey it any better, but i gues what i am saying is in a normal post i cant see how to have, a headline, main text copy and a link that doesnt display in the add copy its self instead of the "learn more" and image being the hyper link.

Ah, ok, I understand.

The title and link description are pulled from your page. Until a few weeks ago you could just click on them and edit them in a post. But it appears that FB has quietly removed that functionality recently and you are stuck with your page title and the first few lines of text as the description, as well as the images on your page. The text itself you still add manually.

However, there is a workaround. What you would need to do is add the Yoast SEO plugin to your site and adjust the title tag and meta description on whatever post/page you are sharing to be whatever you want it to be on FB. Then Your post will display with the exact title and description that you choose. You'd also just need to make sure the image on your page was the image you wanted in your post. The only thing you couldn't add is the learn more button. But that shouldn't cause much of a drop off in results.

Hope that helps.
