Hey man,

just a quick one regarding Facebook ads, if i want to edit the ad do i have to stop the ad running then edit and put it back up or does it automatically update whilst live?

Also as there are 3 duplicate ads running at the moment, do i have to edit them all individually?

Thanks

Hi,

1. You can edit the ads while they are live.

2. You would have to edit each one.

Typically though, it is not a great idea to edit ads once they have been running for a while. The algorithm tends to get confused and things don't always perform well. But not always. And it never hurts to try it first. But just know that if your results go all weird on you in an unexpected way, just after editing, and don't correct within a day or two, then you may need to just duplicate the campaign and start fresh.

Thanks for getting back man,

i have edited them slightly, just with the wording and also added Instagram for placements. They have only been running for 3 days, on the first i got 6 subs and 1 sale (who i think has bought from me before the list and ads) so didn't put that down to ad. But no subs on the second and third day?

Maybe i could have left them alone but i did feel the wording could have been better, hopefully im ok.

Thanks again man

If you saw a total drop off just after editing things then it's likely editing things confused the algorithm, and messed things up. As a general rule you want to try and avoid editing live ads. You can do it as a hail Mary, but I wouldn't edit something that is going well. Sometimes they will correct themselves in a few days, but if after 2 or 3 days things have not corrected then I would duplicate the campaign and start a new one.
