Hi!
A band I play in is about ready to release it's debut album, and we're thinking of how to best do the promo campaign (contacting blogs, reviewers, erc). I recently stumbled across this site: http://www.hearthemusic.de/en/home/
Does anyone have any experience of using a service like that? The cost isn't too big for a single campaign with those people. It would save us the hassle of sending out promo emails to every single blogger etc. individually, one by one (that takes up a ton of time). My worry is that it might be hard to personalize the emails.
Any thoughts or comments? Any help would be appreciated.
Cheers,
Elmo
Hey Elmos,
I haven't personally ever come across that service so I can't comment myself. My gut tells me that sending things out individually is going to get you better results, because of the level of personalization and targeting that you can bring to the table when you do this stuff manually. But I could be wrong/ As you point out, it;s not that expensive. So you could always try manually targeting the most important publications and using something like this for all the other stuff as sort of a hail mary.

That was sort of my thinking as well.
It could work if the service lets you personalize the way Aweber does. That way you'd get the recipient's name in there, and just say something along the lines of "Dear (name)...would you be interested in reviewing our album in your blog...". It would still be better sending everyone something personally, but that as we all know takes a ton of time, time I would rather spend doing something else
I hear you. Let us know what you decide to do and what kind of results you get.
Cheers.
