Bonjour everyone,
I hope you are enjoying the summer. I'm working on releasing my fourth album next Oct 25th and doing a West Coast tour (Vancouver BC to San Francisco) at the same time. I would like to invest a little money in promotion to try and get more exposure for that record and for my CD release shows. I contacted Ariel Hyatt's (a renown music marketing blogger) company cyberpr to get a quote. I talked to someone over the phone who just sent me an email.
They offer a 3 month plan minimum to do what they call a cyber PR campaign. It basically costs $1000/month. They can also offer on top of that for more money, to write a bio and can take care of your social media. I'm only interested in the cyber Pr campaign. Also from what I understand they are not a publicist and don't contact institutional media (local press, radio, etc...). They would find blogs with common interest to mine and pitch them for me. Their model seems to be about building relationships for artists using common interest on top of music. They say it helps to connect with more fans. I think the model seems to be to get more web visibility for artists.
I was wondering if any of you guys have already worked with cyberpr? and if you were satisfied with what they did? They seem pretty legit and I find Ariel's blog posts are always very interesting. However they are a company based in Brooklyn (I'm in Portland, Oregon) and they have never seen me play live or really listened to my music at this point. $1000/month is a big investment for me so I'm looking for feedback and advice before I make a decision.
"Merci beaucoup" for your help, and your time, I really appreciate it,

Hi Eric,
I've partnered with Ariel on a number of projects and she is definitely legit. She has a great operation. To my mind you just need to whey out the benefits of getting some nice blog coverage with spending the same amount of money on paid advertising and asking yourself which one seems like it might yield a bigger bang for the buck. But from what I've heard, I'm sure Ariel's company would be able to deliver on whatever they are promising.
Hope that helps.
