Thanks for the great call! Appreciate all the feedback.
We're in a similar position to the hip hop piano player as we are melding genres.
We'll keep in contact as we finish our site and start to actually market.
Thanks again!
Thanks Stacy. Really glad you liked it.

Hey Stacy:
That's great. Maybe we can help each other!
I'm the hip hop piano player 🙂
Chris,
For sure! It was great hearing your thoughts and I think you had the light bulb moment probably even before the call
about how special what your doing is and now you'll find the way to market it! Let me know how I can help.
We're almost done getting the site up and finishing this new recording so that can be what we promote first.
Cool!
Stacy
Hi Stacy:
Thanks for the supportive words. If you want to help, please take a look at my website.
I am happy that I have a site that I can easily add content to, and share what I'm up to, multimedia, video, audio, and sell downloads, etc. What the site hasn't become yet is a big sales or conversion machine. Over the next several months I hope to help change that. Any ideas or feedback in that direction could be really helpful.
Also, I just bought my new squeeze page domain chrisgoslowmusic.com. While I'm experimenting with that I figure I can also work on my website.
John's idea of a sales funnel is still somewhat new to me, and I'm excited to implement it.
I look forward to seeing what you do as well and following your progress!
Chris,
the squeeze page looks great! I will check out the music this week. We're getting hip to the sales funnel as well. Had read about several times and took a business course that taught it. It seemed to work in the past when we did a small email campaign for a show. Psyched to apply it to our overall band efforts.
Stacy
Chris,
both your site and the landing page look really great. You are very talented. I like the blog and the videos.
MMM3 should give us it good system to get more people involved and coming for more. I would imagine that your site isn't converting people for the same reason ours is not, because all of the content is there and people get all of their fix at once without having to buy anything. Otherwise I think the music is great and all of the pieces are there, blog, videos, etc. Do you have t-shirts for sale?
Why are you giving away 3 songs
for free and not 1?
Stacy
Hi Stacy:
Thanks for the feedback. I reckon you're onto something about the content on my webpage. I definitely intend to do something about that. Still soaking in these ideas.
The 3 free songs is actually based on John's lesson where he was also offering 3 songs. I just thought it would help increase the incentive. The idea of doing one song also occurred to me.
Do you have a website I can look at?
Ah, got it. I will know more as we watch more videos.
http://www.finerband.com is our regular site and http://www.finerband.net is our landing page site. We'll have it full done when the new EP is
done which should be in a few weeks.
thanks!
Hi Stacy:
Thanks for sharing.
There were a few things I am curious about, hope you don't mind me asking. 🙂
Looks like you are getting around with your touring, very nice... Are you currently juggling a day job, taking off for weekends and a week here and there for shows? How's that working out?
I'm listening to Queen of Future Industries... nice hook, really stands out.
Did you do the electric guitar solo?
I notice you are giving away a free download of the song on your music page of the website (not the squeeze page), do you require them to give you an email in order for downloads?
Thanks for the dialog, I'm enjoying it
Thanks! no that is not me on the guitar...it's actually Ethan on the bass! I wrote the song and the arrangement and play all the guitars minus the kick ass solo. You can see the solo on the video at http://www.youtube.com/finerband123
As far as touring we sold our house to tour so have that money and mapped out a 2 year plan. We worked for a long time to save the money to do this and work on the music full time.We sold almost everything we own minus instruments and kitchen stuff you wouldn't buy twice like blenders etc. We are being strategic about where we play and what we can afford. We stay with friends and family in various cities as we build our audience.
For downloads on the squeeze we only give a song if they give their email address. We're dragging our feet with the site until the album done.
Good stuff!
Hi Stacy,
That's awesome that you work together like that.
My wife and I are aligned around being artists as well as being teachers. She is a photographic artist and I do music. We have talked about such things as buying an RV and going around touring, lol, and Right now we are based here in Sacramento, CA and enjoying ourselves.
Personally, I am very interested in doing more to get myself out there and perform for new audiences, so I find your story very inspiring.
By the way, have a happy Thanksgiving.
--Chris
Thanks! It's been a great experience so far. The people in our travels have been awesome and we're learning a lot.
We're not at the rv point yet, car...has been much better for gas
That's pretty great about you and your wife. I think the online marketing mixed with the touring will have a good benefit in the long term but your way of the local events and online marketing has also worked for a lot of people. We're focusing more on the on line stuff right now as it gives us more time to write and release music.
Have a great Thanksgiving!
Stacy
We don't actually have plans to go in an RV, lol, but there's an essence to the idea which we like... freedom of time and money to do what we want to do, and the idea that it would help me tour. It's not really a lifestyle I'm planning on right now, more of simply continuing to expand my artistic activities (online as you say) and being open to opportunities.
Keep up the good work, I look forward to hearing more,
Chris
Ah, got it. The internet has so many powerful tools. Once we get the album done we're going to kick it in to high gear with the marketing efforts.
Thanks for the compliment on the good work. You too! Have a great weekend.
Stacy
Thanks for the note, Stacy. Took me a little while to get back to it.
I'm listening to the Monthly Training Lesson going on live right now.
I hope all is going well.... any new developments?
All is well! We've been agressive with youtube videos…making them which as been great, but we're still working on the album so have not put the squeeze page into effect do to that. But the album is almost there. We got added to MTV's music library via Tinderbox Music because we did a college radio campaign with them last spring. Now they have to actually play it, but it's a start.
how are you?
