There are a couple of reasons I don't use the JV forum on the site yet:

1. I don't have my basics down yet. I haven't found my stride or strategy yet in getting regular sign-ups.
I'm getting sign-ups,  but not a constant flow, so I am still trying to get something that works.

2. Because of this, my list size isn't very big and I don't have that much to offer.

3. It also requires that I partner with an artist who has a similar style or whose listeners would be receptive
to my music. I can't tell what style each member here does without going and listening to each individual one.

I'm not afraid of losing "juice." Even in real life, I try to forge relationships with other bands for
the very reason that together we are many times stronger than apart. My hope is that I will achieve such success
in marketing that they will ask me what I'm doing. Then, I can convince them to buy MMM and join IC, and
REALLY get something going.

I hope you don't close down the JV forum before this unless you can put it back later. I'm just not at the point
where I can make use of it yet.

Thanks for sharing that Tom. As long as you guys want it, I'll leave it up.

A couple things to keep in mind when you're ready...

1. With a decent autoresponder you can create a segment of your list and only send to a portion. So often JVs who are doing a swap just create a segment of equal size to take care of that disparity that you mentioned.

2. When looking for JV partners in the forum I would just post something that was like an add, that explained what kind of music you made and what kind of partners you were looking for.

But I realize you're saying you have other things to sort out as well. As long as I keep getting requests like that I'm happy to leave it open.

Thanks.
